BJP’s campaign committee chief Chief Narendra Modi said that India passed through the most horrible phase in the post-Independence history of the country during the nine years rule of the UPA Government.
Speaking at the Gujarat BJP executive meeting on Sunday, the Gujarat Chief Minister slammed UPA Government for pushing the country in the state of hopelessness during last decade.
"In order to rejuvenate the country, we need to make India free from Congress," he said adding that Atal Bihari Vajpayee's NDA did nuclear test at Pokharan to enhance India's defence strength. Because of wrong foreign
policy of UPA for neighbouring countries like China, Maldives, Myanmar etc, India's reputation has touched its bottom in front of international communities,” Modi said.
Meanwhile, the Gujarat BJP has decided to complete review meetings of all 182 Assembly constituencies during August in view of upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The decision was taken during the first meeting of the new State BJP executive on Sunday after its formation in the last week of July.
The meeting was attended by State BJP president RC Faladu, Gujarat in-charge OM Mathur, BJP's national vice president Smriti Irani and other senior State leaders and eligible members of the executive apart from Modi.
The leaders emphasised on organising programmes to connect youth with the party. Besides, the decision was taken to strengthen tehsil level organisational structure through 'Shakti Kendra Shashktikaran' programmes in order to spread the message of Congress mukt bharat (Congress Free India) at grassroots level.
The members of the executive also passed three resolutions. The first resolution was on failure of the Manmohan Singh's UPA Government on all fronts.
Points including UPA's inability to control inflation, devaluation of rupee, agriculture policies against farmers and others were part of the resolution.

In the second resolution, the members congratulated Gujarat Government under Modi's leadership for adopting holistic approach of development. In the third resolution, the State executive presented charge sheet mentioning UPA's injustice towards Gujarat.
